It is a greeting that means “Welcome/Hello” in the Jandi Language of the Quandamooka Nation peoples

My colleagues and I recently participated in Yura Consultancy’s 8 Aboriginal Ways of Learning workshop, and it was an incredibly valuable professional learning experience.
The presentation was accessible to all educators, regardless of their prior knowledge of Aboriginal culture or ways of working. The presenters were professional, engaging, and created a welcoming space where educators felt comfortable to come together, yarn, and reflect on the 8 Ways of Learning framework.
As an educator, I felt supported to share my own thoughts, make meaningful connections, and deepen my understanding of culturally appropriate ways to embed Indigenous perspectives into teaching and learning. The workshop gave me greater confidence in incorporating the 8 Ways into my planning and also supporting other educators on their own journey.
